CB, right now my blog promotion basically amounts to word-of-Mom, so it's great to know you're reading it. Thanks.

I can relate to so much of what you say, and it's so well expressed, too. I particularly like the description of Truckstop as a dowager at a dance.

I find that I struggle the most when I feel like I am waiting for something to happen--the boy, the book, the baby--as opposed to being present in what is actually happening. One of the greatest gifts of having a dog is that it brings you back into the present. When I pet Mako, that's what I'm doing and it's all I'm trying to do. A good way to stop the brain from spinning out of control.

I do have moments, though, when I worry about not being able to take care of Mako. What if he gets really sick and I have to take him to the vet? I don't have a car. Okay, so I take a cab, but what if he can't walk and I can't lift him into the cab? I wonder how much of these fears is directly related to my concerns about being able to take care of myself. What happens if I get too sick to walk and I can't make it to the car? Terrifying.

I love the way you write, so thought provoking. I was almost in tears at the end thinking about how absolutely terrible it will be for me when boo boo leaves me, something I dread more and more the older she gets. I miss seeing your smiling face every day!

Your blog writing is exceptional. I find myself reading parts of it aloud to those around me. I hope that you are getting the traffic you deserve. My niece started writing a blog after she was laid off, and was able to tie it into her work interest. It was mentioned in a list of blogs for her "profession," although her mother said that just about every such blog on the same subject was included in the list I saw (published on her blog).

I hope you are well advertised, however that works with a blog.
